In Harmony- A Violin Duo

Anna Leunis and Petros Karapetyan are violinists with the Rochester Philharmonic
Orchestra who share a passion for performing together as a duo. Their programs range from classical masterworks such as Mozart’s Magic Flute (arranged for two violins), Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, and Sarasate’s Navarra, Op. 33, to pop favorites including selections from Wicked, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, and more. This season, their concerts support a special project: traveling to Kenya to teach music to children at the In-Step Children’s Home.

Anna Leunis is a member of the RPO’s first violin section. She has also performed with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and has
appeared at summer festivals including the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, Pacific Music
Festival, Britt Music & Arts Festival, Caroga Arts Collective, Artosphere Festival
Orchestra, and the Lake George Music Festival. Anna holds an M.M. from the Yale
School of Music and a B.M. from the Eastman School of Music, as well as a B.A. in
English Literature from the University of Rochester.

Petros Karapetyan, originally from Yerevan, Armenia, joined the Rochester
Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019. He is a former member of the Aguascalientes
Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Houston and Utah Symphonies,
Sarasota Orchestra, the IRIS Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Sinaloa de las Artes,
and Symphoria. Petros has been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, Pacific
Music Festival, Lake George Music Festival, Colorado College Summer Music Festival,
Britt Festival Orchestra, and Music in the Mountains. An active educator, he teaches at the Chamber Music Institute for Young Musicians in Stamford, CT, and has given guest masterclasses at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes and with the Orquesta Sinfónica Esperanza Azteca in Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Music with a
Performance Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, a Bachelor of Arts in
Business from the University of Rochester, and a Master of Music from Rice University
