The Rochester Ukulele Orchestra (RUO) is Rochester’s premier powerhouse of pint-sized, four-string fury. Born during the late-2000s ukulele revival, this spirited ensemble reimagines everything from jazz and folk to rock and even heavy metal—transforming familiar favorites into vibrant, tropically tinged arrangements that are as surprising as they are irresistible. Equal parts virtuosity and mischief, RUO proves that big sound can come from the smallest instruments.
Core members currently lighting up the stage include Stephen Jacobs, Randall Pollok, Daryl Hurd, Val Weyand, Mike Axelrod, and Suzanne Keppeler.
