Ask a Libarian: Tech Help Guidelines

The Greece Public Library is pleased to offer Ask a Librarian Tech Help appointments. Get comfortable and confident with today’s technology through one-on-one assistance from a librarian. Our 45-minute personalized tutoring sessions are designed to support learners of all skill levels—whether you’re setting up a new device, exploring online services, navigating apps or building digital confidence. Tell us what you’d like to learn, and we’ll guide you at your own pace. Registration is required and restricted to one appointment per week. During each Ask a Librarian appointment, you can expect one-on-one assistance from a librarian for up to forty-five minutes for the following:

Librarians CAN help with:
· Using Libby, Hoopla (for Greece Residents) and other digital library resources
· Setting up an email address (gmail, yahoo, etc)
· Setting up a social media account (Facebook, Instagram, etc)
· Downloading apps onto a smartphone/tablet
· Basic smartphone help
· Transferring files from phone to computer or another device

What Librarians CANNOT help with:
· Introductory computer lessons
· Listing items on an online marketplace (ie: Etsy, eBay, Facebook Marketplace)
· Registration or use of dating sites
· Creating, designing, or editing content for patrons including video, photos or documents
· Assistance with completion or instruction of legal, medical, financial or tax information
· Resume/cover letter help and proofreading
· Using or setting up a device at home
· Device repair or troubleshooting
